We Bought a House!

WOW – I can’t believe I can say the words “We bought a house!!!” Gabe and I have been dreaming of this day since we got married a little over 3 years ago and feel beyond blessed to now hold the keys to our very own home.

Since getting married in 2018 we have rented apartments which suited our ever changing lifestyle perfectly. We moved frequently in our first few years together due to Gabe being in the Navy so buying a house and planting roots didn’t make sense until we moved to Charleston in 2020. We have lived in South Carolina for a little over a year now and truly feel at home. We honestly can’t imagine living anywhere else. The area is gorgeous from the historic downtown to the lowcountry views, we have planted roots at a church that we call home and have connected with an amazing group of friends to do life with.

We had been watching the market for a while now, always checking to see what was newly listed, but with real estate booming in our area it almost seemed impossible for us to land something that was both in our budget and the area we wanted. However, on our way home form Florida on Labor Day weekend, I got a notification of a new home on the market that seemed to check all the boxes and we set up an appointment to view it the very next day. I don’t know if we will ever get this lucky again but this was the first house we had ever viewed with true intentions of buying and the first offer we have ever submitted on a property!

I am a true believer that everything happens for a reason and God has a plan for us that is far better than our own and I know that is how we found this gem of a home. After a little research on the home, I soon realized that it also formally belonged to a sweet couple from our own church that was moving out of town which was the cherry on top for me.

We feel so lucky to call this home now and start a new chapter in life. We spend every night dreaming of projects and discussing all of our ideas and every weekend and evening has been spent making it our own. Our first big project is getting all of the interior walls painted white and replacing the carpet in the guest rooms with hard wood to match throughout. Gabe has been working hard on the landscaping and his man cave in the garage while I have been organizing and decorating the inside. We are having so much fun and I can’t wait to create many new memories for years to come.

I plan to share a lot of the things we do to the house so be on the look out for lots of home content! I have some many ideas that I can’t wait to see come to life and share with you.

I am beyond excited and thank you all for following along!
