What an amazing weekend we had with sweet friends in the mountains of Greenville, SC. Located just over 3 hours from Charleston, this spot is the perfect getaway to relax, recharge and enjoy.
We arrived in Greenville late on Friday night, checked into our charming home that we rented with airbnb and went straight to bed for an early wake up call on Saturday. I would 100% recommend the house we rented and I will link it here. It was clean, comfortable and located near everything we had planned to do.
We started Saturday morning with breakfast at The Commons which is a food hall filled with local vendors and a wide variety of options. Next we ventured to the downtown area that hosts a local farmers market every Saturday morning. After shopping the local vendors we rented bikes from Reedy Rides and biked the famous Swamp Rabbit Trail. The trail stretches over 22 miles and runs along the Reedy River. The views are absolutely gorgeous and there are several parks, shops, breweries and restaurants along the way. We biked to Falls Park which has some stunning views that you cannot miss. From there we biked to the Swamp Rabbit CafΓ© & Grocery for lunch and I can’t recommended this stop enough! They have an amazing selection of local foods and treats and their grilled cheese and hot apple cider by the fire is the perfect combination.
We ended our ride with bubble tea at OCHA tea bar and headed to Clemson for a football game! The game was such a fun experience, even if you’re not a huge sports fan like me, but make sure to dress warm and only clear bags are allowed.
Sunday morning we woke up bright and early and took a drive up the mountains to Sky Top Orchard! We walked all over the orchard, ate hot and fresh apple cider donuts with cider and even rode the hay ride for the full experience. I would recommend going early in the season though because there were only a few apples left on the trees for picking. Our last stop was at “Pretty Place” and while it is quite the drive to get there, the views are 100% worth it.
We had the best time in Greenville and we are already planning our next trip back to the mountains. It is the perfect place to unplug and enjoy the simple things in life.
