Spring Tablescape

Ever since moving to the south I have learned a few things: southern hospitality does exist, hosting is a big deal and tablescapes are a part of life! I never put much thought into a “tablescape” before but they truly are a work of passion and art that I have grown to love and appreciate with our move to South Carolina. There’s just something so fun and beautiful about a table full of both new, old and vintage pieces that come together to create a fun and inviting environment for any meal, whether it be a large party or weeknight dinner at home with the family.

I had so much fun putting together my first official tablescape, making sure each detail was perfect. If you are new to this like me, I would recommend picking one piece that is bold as your main focal point and center the table around that. For this set up, I started with these gorgeous dinner napkins from India and Ivy. I knew I wanted them to be the center of attention so I picked my tablecloth, drink wear and colors around them.

I started with this basic white tablecloth that I will be able to use time and time again. I then added my rattan place mates, dinner & salad plates and topped them with the dinner napkins. I tied my dinner napkins with pink ribbon from the craft store to match my fresh flowers but napkin rings could have been added as well if you prefer.

Next I added my gold silverware on the sides of the plates, the crystal wine glasses and fun goblet dishes for some color. Layering your table adds texture and depth but make sure to not clutter or overcrowd the space.

Finally, I added a touch of traditional blue and white with my ginger jar inspired vase filled with fresh flowers for extra color and height. I feel like fresh flowers are a staple for hosting and making your tablescape beautiful every time.

Since Valentines Day is only a few weeks away I finished things off with some fun heart chocolates to be festive but you could easily swap those out with regular chocolates for more of a neutral or spring like table.

I had so much fun and I can’t wait to change it up in a month or two with another beautiful tablescape!

Never miss a post!
